A Wellness Mentor is going to guide you in creating lasting change to live your version of a healthy, happy, fulfilling lifestyle. That’s the gist of it anyway.
Also known as Health Coach, Health & Wellness Coach, Wellness Coach, amongst other names. I prefer to call myself a Wellness Mentor as I take a holistic approach to your overall wellbeing and lifestyle.
Before I go any further there are two things that must be clear:
First, a Wellness Mentor will not tell you what to do. They are here to guide you to discover your own way as the unique and wonderful human you are.
Second, the number one thing stopping you from achieving the lifestyle you desire, is YOU. You need to be ready to accept that in order to get the most out of your time with a Wellness Mentor or Coach.

What is a Wellness Mentor?
Okay, so how exactly do we help you create a healthy lifestyle?
Well, first we help you identify what that actually is for you. This is often one of the hardest parts as you might have “kind of an idea”, but what we need is a clear vision of what healthy living truly is for you.
Once that’s clear, we work to align your habits, choices and behaviours to your vision of health.
Exactly how we do that, depends on each individual. We take time to understand which strategies work for you, what your strengths are, where the roadblocks lie, what makes you tick.
The process of bringing all of these things together and slowing building these habits to create the lifestyle you desire, can almost feel magical at times. The magic lies within the tipping point. That’s the point where all of these small things suddenly (at least it feels sudden), turns into something so much bigger. You not only see, but feel, a shift in yourself.
And although it can feel magical, the art of coaching is rooted in the evidence based science of positivity psychology, neuroscience and behavioural science. These are the foundation of everything we do to create beautiful, lasting change in your life. So that you can…

It must be noted that the process of this is not a short one. In order to create true lasting change, it needs to happen bit by bit, this is not a rush job. In fact, if you were to rush it (as most do when they try to create change on their own), your brain rejects it and, in most cases, failure is inevitable.
Slow. Steady. Consistent.
Lastly, but oh so important, is that when choosing your Wellness Mentor / Coach, you two need to vibe. You want to feel comfortable with them as the more honest you are with each other, the better the whole process will be. A few questions you might want to ask yourself are:
Do I like the type of language they use? Will the communication flow with ease?
Is there chemistry? Do you feel a sense of connection with them? Do you feel comfortable with them?
What is their experience and background? Does this align with you and what you are wanting to achieve?
What are their qualifications and are they insured?
Do they inspire you?
